Oak Island Fishing Charters had two backwater trips yesterday and although we started off slow by the end of the first trip we found the flounder. On the second trip we went right back to were we found the flounder but could not get one to bite. After a move we found the big Red Drum and just about every one was over the slot size and had a hard time landing them as they were breaking us off.

Today Oak Island Fishing Charters went flounder fishing since the wind was blowing the tops off the waves in the ocean. First cast was a nice flounder the they started back to back. About the time we thought about filling the boat up the tide went slack and so did the fish. We looked the rest of the morning
Oak Island Fishing Charters Red Drum Blitz
Oak Island Fishing Charters got into a hot Red Drum bite this morning. Even though the wind was blowing it was very nice in the backwater. Toward the end of the trip we needed a flounder and on the last cast the inshore slam was complete. No big flounder today but the big red drum taking line off the reel was worth it. We let several fish go that did not fit into the slot.

Today was a repeat of yesterday as we caught another BIG FLOUNDER and some Red Drum. We have not been catching a lot of fish like we should but we are making it up in big fish. Everyone is happy and has a fish story to tell. We did loose way to many fish today for what ever reason but tomorrow is a different day.

Today Oak Island Fishing Charters went flounder fishing even thugh the wind was blowing but the flounder were biting. We fished behind Bald Head Island to stay out of the wind, sometimes mother nature takes you to the fish. We will be flounder fishing the next several days.

Oak Island Fishing Charters ran a short 3 hour trip this morning with some kids trying to catch some Spanish and Blues but nothing was happening. So I went back grabbed the backwater boat for the 2nd trip and caught some really nice flounder 1 fish was around 5 pounds. Oak Island Fishing Charters picked up a group from Bald Head Island NC for a 1/2 day backwater fishing trip. After a slow start the flounder started coming in the boat so it looks like the flounder bite has kicked off so don’t wait to go fishing. BTW one of our fish was 28″ a BIG FISH and I will have pictures later.
